The Yurutí are an Indigenous people of the Vaupés region and part of the Eastern Tukanoan cultural landscape. Their communities are connected to river systems, chagra agriculture, fishing, hunting, oral memory, and ceremonial relationships.
Yurutí identity is carried through language, family, territory, and the teachings of elders. Like neighboring peoples, they live in a world where rivers, sacred places, animals, plants, and human responsibilities are deeply connected.
Traditional practices such as gardening, fishing, storytelling, and ceremony are not isolated activities. Together they form a way of life that teaches belonging, discipline, and respect for the living world.
For Dulce Amazónica, the Yurutí help communicate that every Amazonian people has its own place in a larger network of cultural and ecological relationships. Their knowledge deserves recognition, protection, and respectful representation.
