Doña Ligia
Doña Ligia comes from the Panure, a Tukano-speaking people of the Vaupés region of the Colombian Amazon. Her knowledge is carried in her hands: in the foods she prepares, the artesanías she brings, and the quiet authority of someone who has lived the Amazon rather than studied it.
At Dulce Amazónica, Doña Ligia represents the depth and dignity of her community's place in the ecosystem. She is one of several Tukano ambassadors who have brought the Vaupés to Guatapé, each adding to the picture visitors form of a region most will never reach.

The Panure are a Tukano-speaking people of the Vaupés, a region of rivers, forests, and deep Indigenous history in the northwest Amazon. The Tukano-speaking peoples are known for their ceremonial traditions, their relationship with the Vaupés river system, and the intricacy of their oral traditions and artesanías. Doña Ligia brings that inheritance into the room, in person.
